Hello there.
My name is Jared Tomlinson and I'm a freelance designer, artist and craftsman living in the Kansas City area. I am inspired by tasteful typography and smart, simple design. Whether I'm behind the computer or making sawdust in my at-home workshop, I'm passionate about creating something new. I'm a driven, go-getter type with a curious mind who has 10+ years of experience in print and digital media, UX design and spatial/experiential design and fabrication.
On a personal note, I am a huge Beatles fan and I have a completely-normal-not-weird-at-all obsession with The Big Lebowski. Most of my close friends call me Dude, or Duder, or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. I'm an amateur woodworker with an eye for furniture and home decor design. The St. Louis Cardinals are my one and only baseball love but I definitely pull for the boys in blue here in KC.
I'm wide open to discuss all things design, debate about who was the best Beatle (Answer: John), or talk shop about how crazy the last episode of (insert current amazing HBO show here) was. I'm also available for commissions if there's a custom piece of furniture that you've always thought about putting in that one weird corner of your living room.
